We are now taking registrations for our Winter Workshops Series! Spaces are limited. Registration and pre-payment is required to secure your place - register at the Gallery during regular hours.

Watercolour with Anne Havard - course is 3 x 3hrs10am-1pm, Sundays February 5, 12, & 19
Fee for the course: $45 members/$60 non-members, plus $10 for materials
Mask Making with Linda Stringfellow - course is a single session of 3hrs
9am-12pm, Saturday February 11
Fee: $15 members/$20 non-members, plus $5 for materials
Platter Making with Susan Clay-Smith - course is 3 x 3hrs

Fee for the course: $45 members/$60 non-members, plus $20 for materials
Life Drawing with Britt Sanborn - course is 4 x 3hrs

Fee for the course: $60 members/$80 non-members, plus $20 for materials & models fees
Silk Painting with Lori Knorr - course is a single session of 3hrs
9am-12pm, Sunday March 18
Fee: $15 members/$20 non-members, plus $17 for materials
The Gallery is looking to hire male and female models to pose for evening life drawing classes. Rate of remuneration is $50 per 3hr session ($40 if you are not comfortable completely disrobing in which case we will accept form-fitting swimwear).

Classes begin in March 2012 - if you are not available then we can still add you to our register of potential models for future classes.

Having a meeting? Need a place to host an event or workshop?
Did you know the Smithers Art Gallery rents out the gallery space?
The gallery is available for rental outside of the hours we are open to the public. It has a well-lit interior with ample room for hosting events such as board meetings, workshops, and coffee houses. We have seating for approximately 40, trestle tables, and a kitchen.
The rental cost is $15 per hour, and a $50 damage deposit is required. The damage deposit will be returned at the end of your event if no damage has been done to the gallery.
To book the Gallery drop us an email at info@smithersart.org, or call us on 250-847-3898 to make sure the date you are requesting is available - we will make a provisional booking for you which will be confirmed once you have signed the rental agreement and made payment.
The PDF version of the rental agreement can be found below. The completed form can be mailed to the Gallery, or dropped off during our hours of operation, along with all fees.
