At the Smithers Art Gallery, we are committed to keeping a safe environment for our staff, volunteers, and patrons. As per provincial and federal health recommendations, we have set up the gallery space to ensure social distancing with limited capacity and directional spaces zones. We also provide a hand sanitization station in our entrance/exit. Please wear a mask as they are now required in all indoor spaces as stated in the new province wide restrictions. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
We ask you to please save your visit for another time if you are experiencing the following symptoms, have travelled outside of Canada within the past 14 days, or have been in contact with someone with Covid-19. 
 
Symptoms Include:

  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Sore Throat & Painful Swallowing
  • Stuffy or Runny Nose 
  • Headache
  • Muscle Aches
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of Appetite and/or Smell

Are the bathrooms open to the public?
No, all bathrooms are currently closed to the public. We are sorry for the inconvenience. 
 
Can we bring in school groups during this time?
Please note that our space capacity is limited to 6 people at a time. Please give us a call to discuss potential visits. 
 
When will workshops and public gallery activities resume?
We are now offering in-person workshops with limited capacity.  We are also hosting online art demonstrations for you to follow along with on our YouTube channel. Click here and check back for updates! We have a few fun online craft activities for kids as well, check them out here
 
Do I need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to enter the gallery? 
Yes. The new province wide restrictions state that masks are required in all indoor spaces.
